As some of you know, since 2018 I’ve been rescuing and caring for homeless cats. To keep them safe, I currently use three different places: a small house I rent for sick or injured cats, an empty family house that has become a shelter for many cats, and the small home where I live with my mother.
Every summer, I face the same difficult situation. Family members come from France to spend their vacation with my mother, and because our home is very small, the cats become extremely stressed around visitors and children. Some stop eating, hide all day, and struggle to feel safe. To protect them, I have to rent another small place for about a month until the visitors leave. Together with food, litter, and daily care, this will cost around $400–500.
At the same time, one of my female cats recently gave birth to seven kittens. Thankfully, I found someone willing to adopt them, but I still need to have their mother spayed to prevent more unwanted litters, which will cost about $100.
Another urgent concern is one of my oldest rescued male cats. He has been losing weight quickly, eating very little, and his condition worries me. He needs to see a veterinarian as soon as possible.
Right now, I simply do not have enough money to cover all of these expenses. The stress has become overwhelming, and my sleep is suffering because I carry these responsibilities alone.
I’m sorry for sharing such a difficult update, but I wanted to be honest about what is happening behind the scenes. Those of you who love cats will understand how much these lives mean to me and why I keep trying, even when things feel impossible.
